Personal
http://geocities.com/thesabresmith
This is my star wars website, devoted to everything
about the Jedi and Sith orders. From costuming to role playing,
a little bit of philosophy, martial arts and fan film making.
http://goldeny.com
This is the website of one of my best friends,
Yakov is an excellent artist and fellow fan film maker. Check
out his 2D & 3D work, galleries and tutorials.
http://tumblemonster.com
Tumble is another CG artist and gymnast I met
trying to make my film.
Star
Wars Fan Film Sites
http://theforce.net
This is in my opinion the best star wars fan
site around, excellent fan fiction, films, comics and more....
There are other good ones like Rebelscum.com but I have always
preferred the resources and materials available at TF.N
http://www.geocities.com/dallasknights/
This is the home of Dallas Knights productions
and my favorite fan film; A Question of Faith. It is by no means
the highest quality film available in terms of video or audio
quality but what it lacks there for me it more then makes up
for with story, acting and fight choreography. It is an excellent
movie, well worth seeing and highly recommended. I cannot wait
for the long awaited sequel!
http://homepage.mac.com/tbx_productions/TBX/index.html
TBX Productions made one of my other favorite
films; Challenge of the Sith. Again not the greatest in all
aspects, it is still a very inspiring film to me in terms of
story, ideas and scope. I am also patiently waiting for COTS

One of the best fan films available is still
Duality, a film shot entirely against blue screen, it has great
characters, costumes, choreography, effects and an original
story. Few films since have equaled it.
http://www.brokenallegiance.net/
A great film all around, together with Duality
and Knightquest it has inspired a “revolution” in
fan films, raising the bar in terms of visual quality and special
effects so that many productions now rival big budget studio
films.
Star Wars Reference sites
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Quadrant/7637/
If you want detailed drawings or schematics of
Lightsabres the only thing I can suggest is to turn to “the
darkside”. It is simply the best place to go for high
detailed Lightsabre dimensions.
http://www.partsofsw.com/
This site endeavors to try and identify the “parts”
of star wars, the “real world” items used to make
the props from the movies, from flash guns to lady razors....
http://www.blast
tech.com/
Named for the fictional weapons manufacturer
in the star wars back story/ expanded universe (Blas-Tech),
this site is one of only a couple of sites that you can buy
high quality, new, reproduction props. If you want Lightsabre
grips, emitters and buttons or an authentic Han Solo blaster
this is the place. But they are a little expensive for my taste.
But that probably because I am incredibly poor. If I had money
I’d buy a couple of everything.
http://parksabers.com/
If you want to buy a Lightsabre Parksabers are
possibly “the most powerful sabers in the universe”
(tm) They have a great selection of original sabre hilts and
in a move I can only describe as brilliant, they also supply
newly manufactured Graflex 3-cell flashguns. True they are a
little expensive, but about the going market price and I would
trust this guy and his new ones over some guy on ebay with a
used one he “thinks” is the one they used.
http://bigyellowbox.tripod.com/
As a novice prop maker I found this site and
loved it, I still visit often in hopes of updates... but there
never seem to be any. This is a great site with many ideas for
making your own Lightsabre hilts from everyday hardware store
parts. There are plenty to choose from in all styles, all are
easy to build and are affordable. The sabres I build are my
own designs based on techniques and Ideas I got from this site.
Unfortunately because it is a small site with a lot of traffic
it goes down frequently.
Film making
http://homebuiltstabilizers.com
This is one of the best and sadly only places
I have been able to find that openly discusses and describes
building a steady-cam, a device used to move around freely with
a camera whilst trying to eliminate shaking.
http://www.student.virginia.edu/~fms
uva/steadycam/
This is probably the widest known cheap/home
made steady-cam site I know of. If you do a search-no matter
where, this site normally comes back.
Other
sites I have found on camera stabilizers that I found interesting,
but do not necessarily endorse are:

http://www.codydeegan.com/
http://home.pacifier.com/~tmnathe/boom.html
http://www.digitalevolutionproject.com/stabilizerX.htm
Ok and here are just some good resources I have found for film
making in general, for the inexperienced, low and no budget
film makers out there.

For
a few easy to follow effects tutorials I recommend looking at
www.theforce.net
or
GoldenY.com
For
a greater selection of more complicated tutorials and a large
forum:
www.3dcafe.com
And
just a couple of places to look for smaller, more pocket friendly
softwares to help with post production:

and Divx.com
