A couple of things happened today, on a personal note Alice’s umbilical chord came off finally… It is weird whenever we go to the Pediatrician there seems to be a “complaint” of some kind, the first time we were getting worried because Alice hadn’t pooped in a day and a half so the doctor wrote up up a prescription for some stuff to help and that night before even filling the prescription… she popped. This time the doctor was a little surprised that the umbilical was still on and low and behold the next morning it was gone. weird.

Anyway the other big thing that happened was that as of a few minutes ago The Babysitter DVD was “In Processing” at Createspace.com. Hopefully we will get the proof copy back soon, I am really excited! I am also very curious to see how long it takes to turn around, they received it this morning at about 10:37 according to the USPS website and it took until 5pm for it to show up as having been received on the Createspace website. I am going to be checking the website like a freak for the next few days.

What else… I have been updating the Main website a little bit, adding some galleries and updating descriptions…. including the Store page with a link to the Babysitter DVD even though it isn’t quite ready yet. I want to make a bunch more changes soon including updating all of the Movie pages and descriptions.

Ok that’s about it. Ideas have been percolating for NaNoWriMo, I want to try and have a little more of a clue about the plot before I begin. We picked up a couple of writing magazines today that will hopefully help a little. I am feeling good about it. And that feeling will probably continue until November 1st when I shall wake up and have a nervous breakdown.

In case the title didn’t give it away this is a preparatory post. But what are you preparing for Barry!? you might ask. Or you might also ask: “Why are you such a huge hairy moron Barry?” but I digress…

I am preparing for NaNoWriMo. “What is NaNoWriMo?” You might ask… ok I have to stop the question thing…

November is apparently National Novel Writing Month and after many years of procrastination and just plain forgetting about it, Angela and I have signed up to participate in the official NaNoWriMo competition which is basically a challenge to sit down and write a 50,000 word novel between 12:00am November 1st and 12:00pm November 30th.

“What are you - some kind of masochist!?: You might ask… (DAMNIT, I wasn’t going to do that any more)

Well quite possibly yes. But I think that it is an interesting challenge and to complete it would be an interesting thrill I think. It would be quite the accomplishment for me considering my word counts tent to fall on the short side more often then not, that is why I mainly stick to Scripts now. But I think it will be interesting and for better or ill I am in it now and I am going to do it.

My aim is a minimum of 1,000 words a day, preferably 2,000. I need 1,500 or 1,600 per day to make it so if I can manage 2,000 a few days I should be able to gain myself some breathing room.

I also aim to come here and blog every day, it may not be much. Maybe some brain storming about what to do next, maybe some grumbling about what I just did or maybe even just a running word count and progress report. Whatever the case my goal is to come here and post every day in November. Hopefully I won’t be admitting defeat or making excuses in any of them.

Oh and I guess while I am here I should Mention that I did Finally get “Babysitter” in the mail to CreateSpace. I had a bunch of Software problems towards the end which held me up almost a couple of weeks and I had to send in a less than perfect disk for duplication… but it all works and everything is “right” it just isn’t perfect. I doubt it will be ready and available by Halloween but stranger things have happened. Who knows maybe there will be a Halloween Miracle!

Anyway that’s it. Soon hopefully I will hold in my hands a shiny new DVD and a little over a month from now I will have a Novel I may polish up and release as well. I shouldn’t get side tracked but the idea of releasing a novel makes me think about publishing a book of short stories again. Hmmm… Interesting… But anyway, until next time people.

I still don’t have much time to elaborate, I have to go to work for a while today despite having quit my job - a few hours of work locally isn’t the end of the world and it shouldn’t happen too often. Plus I am tired, as I expect to be for the next few months but give it a couple more days and I should at least have some of my mental faculties back.

But I digress: commence the cuteness!

She was born Yesterday October 12th and she weighed 5lbs 14oz. and was 19 inches long.
