Ok so once again the days have slipped away and my progress unrecorded. well I didn’t make much and with Angela still in the hospital it has been hard to do everything, but things have moved forward.

my brain still isn’t fully awake for the day yet but here is an update.

This morning I woke up early and have made it just shy of 48,000 words with plenty left to write about and 4 days in which to do it. I am going to attempt to get to 50k today and get it authenticated even if I do not finish the story just yet. that way if life should come up like it does then I can always finish it a day or two into December if I need to. Considering I was on target to having 75,000 words by November 30th until Angela went into the Hospital I think that I can have a little lee-way to finish especially considering it is perfectly within the rules to not be finished as long as you have 50,000 words written.

Anyway, what else? ahh yes! on a whim this morning I decided to try and check to see if “The Babysitter” had been listed on IMDB yet - not expecting to find it, and guess what; it was! YAY!

So Lost Gotham has it’s first official release listed on IMDB!

Ok I go now. I have 2,050 words to write today if I can and they do not write themselves.

Ok, so I haven’t been here for a couple of days, and it was deliberate, and here is why.

Well for one I have written nothing in the last couple of days and here is a breakdown of the time line of the last 48 hours or so, to give you an idea of why.

11/19 - 5:30am get up to leave for 8:30am appointment in Long Beach 100 miles from home.
11/19 - 6:30am finally leave home.
11/19 - 9:30amish arrive at appointment after getting stuck in traffic and lost.

After the doctors appointment we were supposed to go to my friend s house Scott, to hang out, capture some behind the scenes footage and just catch up after not seeing each other for a couple of years. BUT the doctor said I think there is a problem go back home to your local doctor and they will order these tests. So we ended up calling Scott and just stopping by his house for 5 minutes while he let me borrow his camera to take home and capture the footage myself. so…

11/19 - 11:45ish get to Scott’s house.
11/19 - 2pmish get to Dr. Fernandez here at home. she looks Angela over and sends us right to the emergency room.
11/19 - around 5pm get taken into a bad in emergency.
11/19 - at about 8pm I go home. Whilst at the hospital we had Alice with us the whole time, we ran out of formula and diapers.

I got home around 9pm getting a ride from my sister in law, I take care of Alice and Megan and start to try to capture the Roadkill Behind the Scenes footage because in theory I can just hit the button and walk away… well it didn’t work. my computer freaked out, shut it self off and i messed with it for 2 hours trying to get it to work.

11/19 11pm I give up and go to bed. I have to wake up at some point in the night to feed alice.

11/20 6:30am I get up shower get dressed and run around like a Maniac trying to pack a bag ready for the day at the hospital.
11/20 7:07am I Leave to walk Megan to school with Alice. then wait for the bus to the hospital.
11/20 8:15amish I get to the hospital only to be told that I can’t go up to see Angela because I have the baby.
11/20 9am, sitting in the waiting room I finally get a hold of my sister in law and ask her to take Alice for a couple of hours so I can See Angela.
11/20 10:30am I drop Alice off with her and head back to the hospital.
11/20 11:38am I walk through the Hospital front door.
11/20 11:50am I make it up to the room. ok this is getting to monotonous… basically I end up being there until 6pm.
11/20 7:45pm I walk through my front door and can sit down and relax.

after two days of fucking around I fed Alice and went to bed. this morning I was able to wake up without an alarm and I do not have to go anywhere first thing. later today I am going to visit Angela in the hospital after I figure out what to do with Megan and Alice. I also hope to get some writing done.

My brain is all over the place right now so maybe writing isn’t the best idea but after I get this all out and I am going to try and get comfortable and relax and write and hopefully get something done. I have just 8,100 words to go. I should have passed 50k yesterday….

BUT I figured out how to capture the footage - I have the one camera hooked up to my camera and i am transferring the footage and then i will capture from my camera later.

So the end result is… I am slowly getting the footage I have been waiting for for four years… we do not know what is wrong with Angela and I am in jeopardy of failing NaNoWritNo after being ahead from the very first day and every day since. I am tired and not thinking straight.

Well damnit. I have been so tired and distracted that I have completely neglected to come here for a few days. sigh. I won’t be here long now, we are about to leave but I have somehow managed to get to almost 37,000. Of course I am supposed to be reaching 42,500 today but i have fallen behind. I have to write a little over 3 thousand more words today for a total of 5 thousand today alone in order to just get to 40k and then I would have to have another 5k day tomorrow to get all caught up. not going to happen I don’t think but who knows.

The story is progressing well but I am stuck back at a scene that I am not sure how best to handle. once I am over this hump in the story I should be over 40k and in the home stretch. sigh. lets see how today goes and if I remember to come back here and update things?

UPDATE: 10:30pm… 1,151 words to go…

UPDATE 2: 12:22am… 40,038 words written. I limp to bed now.

Ok so it is 1:11am on the 12th but whatever.

Tonight not 15 or so minutes ago I limped to 25,000 words. I am half way to my final goal in less than half of my allotted time. I am also 2,500 words behind where I wanted to be. I should have reached 25,000 about 25 hours ago but because of delays and distractions the last couple of days I have basically decided to call today and “free day” or something. It was a holiday so Megan was home from school, she was both a big help with the baby and a distraction needing to be entertained. But whatever. I have reached a major milestone and I am happy I shall endeavor to make up the lost words if I can but I will not panic over it. sigh.

Damnit did it again, I get so busy trying to write that i keep forgetting to come here. sigh.

Anyway Day 8 went ok. a little slow but I almost made my quota, instead of getting to 20,000 as planned I only made it to 19,157. only 843 words short… that should take long right?

Commence day 9. I have done several of my daily chores already so they are out of the way but so far after over an hour of writing I have only managed about 700 words, I am close but I still haven’t quite hit 20,000 and well … a disturbing fact hit me, while I was checking my notes I looked at a kind of guide that I had written up, a list of broad chapter names and ideas to use as progress markers and then I assigned each one a word count of where I expected to be at that point in the story… and well, I am currently 4,000 words behind where I should be in the story. At this rate I am going to run out of story. I already know that I have to go back and rework some little things earlier in the story and that will add a little but not much. I am just going to have to start getting really wordy and descriptive I think.

Anyway I am going to get back at it, I want to try and get as close to 21,000 as I can before I take a break for lunch. Today’s goal is 22,500 by the way, let see how that goes.

Ok so I forgot to post yesterday, because I was behind the day before I had a lot to make up but make it up I did, I ended up reaching something like 15,073 and wrote a very action packed scene. I hadn’t really thought about it until just now but I guess that that scene marks the transition from act one to act two…

Today has gone quite slowly, we did a bunch of other stuff today so I haven’t had the same amount of tie to write. Tomorrow might be the same again so I really need to make sure that I try to meet my target tonight. I am well ahead of things for reaching 50,000 words before Nov. 30th but I am still hoping to get more like 75,000 if I can (Without diluting the story too much).

I was reading through the rules today and from the looks of things I don’t actually have to be finished with the story by the 30th, as long as I am passed the 50,000 word mark I “Win” but I still want to try and conclude the story if I can.

Things are coming together quite well, I am pleasantly surprised that this story which I have been formulating for a couple of years now has been coming out so easily considering I didn’t think it was ready. It just goes to show that sometimes it just takes the right catalyst - in this case the challenge of writing so much in so little time.

Anyway, I have just written a couple of hundred words here that could have been over there so… away I go.

As far as day 5 goes… so far, not so good. I have written some today but only about half as much I wanted to. it’s a quarter to midnight and I am still going to try some more before I finally go to bed but I don’ feel too happy about how the days writing has gone. oh well. I have finally gotten going again after having a huge mental block for most of the day so I shouldn’t waste my creative energies here right now when I should be working on that. ’til tomorrow.

Ok I have to be quick, I am going to limp to bed in a second while it is still technically today and not tomorrow.

With the assistance and understanding of my wonderful wife I managed to meet my target for the day and passed 10,000 words. I really got on a roll today and wrote two of the more meaty scenes that were festering in my skull. there are still plenty more where they came from, I just need the time and quiet to pull the little infestations out of me.

Gross huh!? that’s just where my head is right now. so anyway at the end of Day four I have 10,272 words done.

Ok I am only here for a minute, I am VERY tired… today has been a long day with a lot going on. it is probably just easier if I make a list of everything, if I could think creatively right now I would probably still be writing at the Novel and not admitting defeat and crawling into bed.

My friend Justin Stacey called me today and we talked for a while. We might be doing some work together in the future.

In a surprise turn of events Createspace has moved my status up to the next stage, they will be producing and shipping my proof any day now! I wasn’t expecting anything until at least Friday, so that was a pleasant surprise.

we had a lot to do today so I didn’t get as much time to write as I would have liked so I have managed to limp my way over 7,000 words but the last couple of hundred might be total crap.

Angela fell down a couple of times today because of her body being all jacked up… loosing so much weight after the birth and the normal chemical imbalances associated with post-partum.

I weighed myself this morning with and without my pants and apparently my pants weigh exactly 5 pounds.

I finished a rough chapter list which should help me set some targets in terms of where I need to be word-count wise and when.

And Now I crawl into bed to hopefully get some good sleep. wish me luck people.

Ok, so it is day three, I forgot to come here yesterday because I was so distracted. I shall endeavor to come back later today and Write about today… I will just try to comment on day 2 for now and post a link to something that has nothing to do with anything.

Yesterday went ok Writing Wise… I made it to like 5,020 words written… I wanted to try to get to 6,000 but I am still well ahead of my daily minimum. so it seems like I have been averaging over 2,000 words a day… at this rate if I can keep it up I will be finished before the 25th which is when they open up the submission/verification process. Hopefully I won’t jinx myself by writing this but if I get on a roll and I can keep myself sufficiently wordy and I don’t run out of story I might even make it to 75,000! But I won’t hold my breath. And I’m not saying that it would be any good.

Ok, that’s enough of that… not for the link I was talking about: Here is a very interesting new movie coming out that I can’t wait to see… Alan Tudyk is amazingly funny and I am a huge fan, the other guy who plays “Sock” in Reaper isn’t bad either.
